I have a couple of APC SmartUps's (computer uninterruptible power
supply). I was wondering if the output of these can be linked in
parallel (assuming correct polarity and initially sync'ed to grid
frequency) to add additional
I do not believe they can be paralleled without modifying the electronics
to synchronize the 60 hz inverter. Inverters designed for grid-intertie
have a lot more protection built in, and automatically synchronize with
the line frequency.

otherwise, I believe, they will drift out of sync over time.
