Isn't Pimentel the guy who said Ethanol wasn't feasible because more energy goes in than comes out??
I think it's OIL that has that "problem". Especially after that post stating how many "tons" of "ancient plants" go into a "single" gallon of gas. Talk about efficiency (or the lack of it). Oilies just like it 'cause it was already there before us "humans" came along. God/Nature ("somebody else") before us did all the work doing all the "inefficient" stuff. And all we're doing is raiding his/her (depending on your religion) "tank" of all the spoils. THAT's why oil production LOOKS so "Pimentel-efficient". Stealing the spoils of someone else's labor ALWAYS looks "profitable" on paper!! David Pimentel, for instance, is an agricultural ecologist at Cornell's Department of Entomology, Systematics and Ecology. Sounds like one of the good guys, eh? ------------------------ Yahoo!
