What are common sources for the raw chemical materials for biofuel
processing? I can get the oil but wanted to know sources for the
alcohol (methanol/ethonal) and test chemicals (PH testing stuff).
So far I have these sources identified (or not=??):
*Oil - local restaurant for used oil or Sams
Thanks Keith,
As I am new to this process and just getting my feet wet (or oily!)
it is good to know that the process is simple enough that homebrewers
(or startup plant operators?) can make good fuel.

Question and Hi everybody (I'm new to this group),
I am looking into feasability of homemade biodiesel but I don't have
a car (yet) that I can test the fuel in. Looking for other ways to
use my experimental batches.
Can I use B100 in a kerosene forced air heater? The one I have is the
bullet
I've thought of this myself (biodiesel venture/plant) and am
compiling costs (fixed and variable) for such a venture in the
states. It costs nothing to dream :)
If anyone has done the legwork on costs already I'd appreciate a line
or two. After all costs are ID'ed then the breakeven volume
to use. If you can keep
your fuel tank
inside until it will be used it will help keep the fuel warmer.
We did not do long term testing - don't know what the BioD will do
to the
seals.

trouble because of the viscosity of
biodiesel at low temps.
I'll give it a try with my first batch of home brewed biodiesel and
let you know how it goes. I have some aladdin style lamps around the
house I can test with.
