this protein is a type of viriod , spelling may be wrong , but if you blew a small pox virus to the size of an elephant this viriod would still only be the size of a mouse , and a centrifuge after several days will hardly concentrate it to the bottom of a test tube. Robby

Just want to add that it cannot be an organism, since if it was, you would be able to kill it with heating. By the same way you would do with a bacteria or virus. The problem is the Creutzfeldt -Jakob Disorder is a protein and that make it not possible to remove by cooking or similar methods. I

Hi Keith, I read trough many of the messages about BSE and found a lot of speculations of what it is, but non that actually comes close to the explanations I got. The disorder was first discovered by Creutzfeldt and Jakob some 80 years ago in cannibal tribes and are carrying their names,

Hello Hakan This is all covered in the archives, and more. In fact the archives isn't a bad place to start for information on BSE. I was working at the Independent in London in 1989-90 when all the denials were going on, with then-Ag Minister John Gummer being photographed for the press
