>Hi All,
>I was told that last week by the service manager at our local dealer, with
>the implication that it was due to "people like me" using biodiesel in them.
>He said that three TDI's were towed in with clumps of gelled biodiesel in
>the lines, and that even commercial biodiesel voids the warranty on the fuel
>system. What a shock!
>I bought it out of town because our local dealer seems to have a bias
>against them. I guess more people will have to buy "out of town" now. Mine
>is from Massachusetts, which apparently has similar emissions requirements,
>as the certificate of origin (which I wish I had copied before I gave it to
>DMV) said "meets emissions requirements in Massachusetts and California".
>I more recently heard that a local commercial supplier had a problem with an
>antigel additive not working, and that at least one of those towed in cars
>had been in a very cold area. So I feel safe continuing to use it. Plus,
>this guy said a 10 micron filter wasn't enough, that it had to be at least
>100 microns. If he doesn't know which is bigger, how can he know as much
>about biodiesel as he says he does?
