Damian, There is a lot of information available, on the Journey to Forever website, the National Biodiesel Board site, and elsewhere. Here are a few references: Briefs: http://www.nbb.org/pdf_files/Envi&Safetyinfo.PDF http://www.nbb.org/pdf_files/emissions.PDF Longer Reports: 1) A Comprehensive Analysis of Biodiesel Impacts on Exhaust Emissions, USEPA October 2002 http://www.nbb.org/resources/reportsdatabase/reports/gen/gen-323.pdf 2) Comprehensive Health and Environmental Effects of Biodiesel as an Alternative Fuel Sasha Koo-Oshima, Nancy Hahn, Jon Van Gerpen (no link but available on line) 3) Effect of Biodiesel Composition on NOx and PM Emissions from a DDC Series 60 Engine. Draft Final Report National Renewable Energy Laboratory Also available online via NREL website. That should get you started. Best, Thor Skov ------------------------------------------------ Nick, Do you have scientific data to show that biofuel is cleaner than petroleum? Does it not depend on the engine? My car is certified as an Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle. I guess if you are running a 20 year old gas guzzler, it may run in a dirty way, but good modern engines are very clean.
