Hello Anthony,

I live in Bangalore-India.
I have enquired about the same at royal enfield here in three different
authorized stockists of enfield bikes.
All responded same fashion Out of production

Yes,
The Indians were producing a diesel powered motorcycle, I believe it was a
variation of the Royal Enfield still manufactured there.

Re: [biofuel] Diesel Motorcycles ? the answer

2002-06-08 Thread Terry Wilhelm

Royal Enfield has been producing diesel motorcycles
for several years. They are produced by a British
company and sold in India. Big market there. There
is one distributor in the US that I have spoken with
about this bike. I have priced the bikes several times
when I was in India and then check the prices in the
US and they are almost three times the cost. In the
US they come with a key and turn signals.
I believe that the bike was a 500 cc. The diesel
model was all black. No chrome but has a real neat
sound.

Re: [biofuel] Diesel Motorcycles ?

2002-06-07 Thread Harmon Seaver

The army has one now, built, I think, by Kawasaki. It's part of NATO's new
program of having *all* motor vehicles run on jet fuel.
I'll see if I can dig up the url.
And there are several other diesel bikes, Royal Enfield used to make one, some
company in India does it now.
