RE: [SWCollect] Journeyman Project
You know where they're from? When I bought my copy of JP2 there was a card inside saying that I had one of the first pressed copies of the game. The first 100 I believe. It said to send the card back to Sanctuary Woods and I would get some gifts. Now Sanctuary Woods had gone out of business so instead of sending in the card, I called Presto Studios and told them about it. They sent me the items you described along with another jewel case copy of the game, with the CDs signed in gold ink by the development team, and numbered out of 100. I thought it was pretty cool. I have no use for them so hopefully someone else does. [SWCollect] CURIOUS -- Call for submissions
Okay, it seems the kinks are worked out of the CURIOUS Guide so it's time to make one more call for submissions. Right now I have the following publishers covered: Epyx Avalon Hill Electronic Arts SSI Infocom Adventure International I'd still like a few people to help out with any of these publishers: Activision Atari Broderbund Cinemaware Lucasfilm Microprose MUSE Origin Rainbird Sierra Sirius Synergistic Ultima (if somebody has expertise in this as opposed to Origin Sierra) Any other computer games you consider yourself a knowledgeable collector of. A few notes: This is not a big time investment. It took me about an hour to do EA Flats (165 entries). If you have a DB already (which I'm guessing most of us do), it is just a matter of assigning a rarity letter to each one and exporting. I don't need you to list every game/variation ever made. Just list the ones you know about. This list will grow and be corrected over time. I'm just looking for a starting point. I'm not looking for games made after 1993 (yet). You will receive the ultimate reward -- credit on this page: http://www.classicgaming.com/gotcha/curious_committee.htm. :-) Drop me a line if you're interested. Once I get the guide beefed up a bit, I'll get a news blurb put out on the Gamespy network. It will start getting some hits, and we'll see what people think. [SWCollect] Old games for sale (not from me)
I found a guy with a fairly large set of vintage games from mid-to-late eighties including lots of SSI and Epyx stuff and many others. Most are shrinkwrapped although I think some may be re-shrinks and not factory. Anyways I got most of what I was looking for from him but if anyone is interested in seeing what he's got just send me a note and I'll give you his e-mail. Unfortunately he doesnt have a nive typed up pricelist but he does have lots of photos.. Anyways I thought Id just pass on the info since he had some relatively hard to find stuff in good condition, I'm not getting commissions or anything :) -- Howard Feldman, Author of The Search for Freedom A Computer Fantasy Role-Playing Game Visit its Homepage at http://home.golden.net/~feldman/SearchForFreedom/ Visit the Computer and Book RPG Museum at http://vgmuseum.chaoticmonkey.com/ Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list.
