Re: [swinog] VoIP & Swisscom bitstream (ADSL) service
Title: R: [swinog] VoIP & Swisscom bitstream (ADSL) service So one would suspect that in this case the big boys are not doing this due to carrier preselect and canibalisation of their exisiting revenue streams via PSTN calls. SIP/H.323 is not really the issue, nor the fact that one can already chose between a wide selection of SIP providers, I'm really focusing on bundled ADSL + VoIP service in CH with either a softphone, VoIP to POTS adapter or IP Phone and how people are providing guaranteed service in the last mile so that the VoIP between the end user and the ISP is available without service impact to due trafic patterns (DoS, circuit saturation, etc..) Note that the info is in french http://www.worldcom.ch/ Still doesn't tell me if FixNet Wholesale does authorise the use of their network for this type of service or not.

At least one company, Intertel, resells ADSL lines and ensures good enough quality to replace an E1 to their H.323 or SIP server, at least that's what the say. http://www.intertel.ch/ I haven't yet tried Voice-over-IP on ADSL yet.
