I wonder why we can't indicate distribution/transmission in a usage=* tag ? No one will agree on the same distinction so why are we trying to force a part of the community in a special way to use the power=line value ? Making such a segmentation in a power=* value, with 2 pretty equivalent thing

Well, I thought underground lines was to be tagged as `power=line`; besides, I thought like you at first, but I've been told on the help.openstreetmap.org link that the distribution/transmission parting should not be taken into primary consideration, maybe because the difference is not obvious f

But why? It seems tools aren't expecting lanes tags with more lanes than in the lanes count. Seems exceptionally arbitrary and very incomplete to count only lanes that a sedan can use. On Tue, Oct 13, 2015 at 6:37 AM, Hubert wrote: > Hey Paul, > > > > „lanes=*“[1] is for the total number of ca

Hey Paul, „lanes=*“[1] is for the total number of car traffic lanes and should not be confused with the “:lanes” suffix [2]. So “highway=* + oneway=yes + lanes=2 + cycleway=lane” is correct. However, your motor_vehicle:lanes=yes|no|yes bicycle:lanes=yes|designated|yes is correct, too.
