You can't really micromap until you micromap for real ;-)
More seriously, there may be no need to split ways down to the *exact* meter to
give the router a sense of the way profile with incline=*.

The proposal was not “rejected strongly.”
A majority of people voting approved of the tag, but it did not meet the
75% supermajority
“The result is *Not approved* with 11 votes for and 8 votes against.”

Oh, thanks for spotting!
This also works fine! And has some decent use already.
(and incline=up;down is not the best idea as it
- semantically applies rather when both apply at once across entire object
- is often produced by buggy editors merging ways with incline=up
and incline=down
)

Good day,
Despite these modes of transport being used by billions of people there
still isn't really any established or properly documented way to map
them in OSM yet.
A proposal to introduce the tag amenity=motorcycle_taxi
There's also the tag incline=up/down which is already used around 400 times.

Usage so far is mostly limited to India and the Philippines but there is
established and documented access tagging for auto_rickshaw=* and
cycle_rickshaw=*.

I wanted to systematically tag mtb scale info in some places to improve routing

Dear all,

while the EN wiki page https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:tracktype
does not explicitly exclude it but "only" strongly suggests it by
telling "Usually a paved surface
In Australia, we encourage mappers not to use the town/city, State, or
postcode fields at all when entering addresses!
All they need to enter is the unit number (if applicable & known), street
number & street name.

I think it does rase the question (albeit quite an edge case) of how to
interpret access restrictions. For example, is a pedicab allowed down a way
with bicycle=no, taxi=yes? How about taxi=no and bicycle=yes?

Has the OSM data model evolved since and are there proper ways to tag

Hello everyone,
In Madagascar we have all of these :
- motorcyle taxis (ojek/boda boda...)
- bicycle taxis
- auto rickshaws (tuk tuk/bajaj)
- cycle rickshaws
- human pulled rickshaws (pousse pousse)
Tried to search the wiki, this mailing lists

Norwegian addresses do not use city or town as a term.
Cities and towns are historical terminology in common usage when
referring to large and small settlements, and they used to carry
official designation and significance (mostly related to trading
rights), but they are not used officially
As for the Philippines addr:town essentially always contains the name of
the major location in an address.
The bulk of these occurences were added in a manual import of 40.000+
public schools where addr:town tag was assigned over addr:city for all
schools that are located in municipalities
Clearly mappers in Bosnia, South Korea, Australia and particularly the
Philippines should be asked about this. I am also concerned that the current
description (“The town of the object that forms part of the address”)
encourages using the tag instead of addr:city.
