this is the place I have tagged:
http://www.fcaspa.com/

They only sell Volvo trucks (new), but have a wide selection of used
vehicles of many different brands.

Maybe to reflect driving licence requirements?

Only those with relatively recent licenses need a special license to drive a
vehicle between 3.5 and 7.5t.

Many of us can drive a 7.5t vehicle on a car license.

Wikipedia includes pickups in the "Truck

But HGV excludes many
pickups because of the H in HGV ("GCM

Interesting. I've watched a fair amount of British media coverage about
the horrific human trafficking a couple of weeks back and noticed the
repeated use of lorry. In this Sky News segment they say vehicle
(comprising of tractor and container) and lorry, but they aren't saying
truck once.

you may be right, actually brand=volkswagen commercial vehicles;volvo was what
was already tagged, and after researching them on their webpage it seems this
should be Krone;Volvo because no mention of Volkswagen (they are also
officially authorized to repair a series of components from different brands,
like tachometers and similar, for which I haven’t tagged any, and they’re
offering a lot of used vehicles from varying brands as well).

This is not good English. A truck is not a type of car. Both are kinds of
motor vehicle. I
doubt you'd find anyone with English as a first language over the age of 4
who would consider
a truck to be a type of car.

I would use something like
shop=car car=truck

Similarly I recently used
shop=furniture furniture=office
to tag shop selling office furniture.

This way both detail is provided
and someone interested just in general
info may use reasonably sized list of shop values.

I would not consider shop=truck or
shop=office_furniture to be a good design,
I strongly prefer cascading tags
allowing both tagging details and using
data without caring about all details.

I had used shop=truck which is also rarely used and undocumented, but it has 54
uses vs. 13 for hgv, and it isn’t an abbreviation (although hgv as a term is
