I agree 100% with this statement. Most of the programs that i'm using works
fine with window-eyes but with jaws barely work and some of these programs are
custom made programs that we are using internally in our office company.
Even NVDA in most circomstances works better than jaws.
Thanks,
Just my two cents worth here, but I'm pretty sure that you could read
Bookshare books with JAWS in much the same way you can with WE. I
personally use either IE or Firefox to read them with absolutely no trouble.

I think you can download many or all bookshare titles as mp3 audio files, which
means you could paln them on your computer or the NLS player if you put them on
a USB drive. These days, I prefer to load them into Voice Dream Reader as
daisy files on my iphone. I've also loaded them onto a
Hello, anyone know the easiest way to read books on book share? For
example, will they play on the NLS player or another external device? Is
book share speech friendly, especially with jaws? I have other questions,
but will ask them off the list if anyone has experience with book share
and wants
no, just for the menu alt, control, shift , and windows keys. the ones that say

work around for those like me that do not want or need these keys to speak.

Try hitting Alt-V and then the letter O. You should be able to make
additional changes there. I do this for Windows 7.

Anyone using the DECtalk USB synthesizer with Jaws 18?
Pastor Gil
I contacted Access Solutions about the issue. I have the most current
drivers. They told me they are going to do some testing and see if they can
track down the issue. I don't have the issue with a software synthesizer.

Hi Chris,
I did this for my Windows key so I could show someone else how to do
it. My result was that it did not speak "windows" but when pressing the
windows key plus r, it did speak "r." Do I assume there is no way to
silence all of the speech in events like this? Thanks.

Hello All,
It is with a great sadness that I have decided to unsubscribe from the
list. Since Window-Eyes is now gone, I feel that I no longer need to be
on the list, but I have had a good level of support from everyone on the
list for several years. I wish everyone the best.

Regards,
Sory to bother you, but am I to understand you must do this for every key you
don't want to have it identify itself? Good god, this is way to complicated
than it needs to be. Is it possible that theese "people" may implement some of
the simplification we had? we made it easy to switch from Jaws
Hi,
Actually, in a weird way, you can.
Press insert-6 to open settings center.
Press shift-control-d to load default.
In the search box type label
Arrow down to manage key labels dot dot dot and press space.
In the list press S until you get to shift.
Press alt-c to change the label.
