Rick:
From my recollection, the email in question allowed for a simple reply
leaving the subject line in tact. This avoids the necessity to click on a link.

Hi Steve:
First, For me clicking the Reinstate link in the e-mail telling me my
account had been disable seemed to work.
That said, it is risky to ever click on anything inside a e-mail message
unless you are 100 percent sure who the sender was.

Rick,
Since this topic is not all that relevant since it is being worked on, I
just want to say that I would never advocate someone click on a link within
an email. A link can say one thing and do something completely different.
This is less true, though, when you reply to an email. It is good
Rick,
Are you guys saying that replying to the confirmation request doesn't work?
Several people have said they need to go in and resubscribe, and in general,
on other lists, I only have to reply to the confirmation request.
As I have tried to describe in other notes, the solution to the problem
Reeva, Rick and all,
I don't think they will comment directly for security reasons. You don't
want those who would do harm to know how the list is set up and this is a
public list as far as I know.
I've only been bounced once and it got fixed.

Do you really think, with everything going on, that this should be their
most important priority? So it takes a couple of minutes to subscribe
again, is that really a big deal? That said, I am one of the lucky ones.

What are you saying?
That they are so behind the curve, so sloppy and so inept that they don't
have time to fix one of the most important parts of a company, the public
face of the company ie the e-list and their website?
Is that your stand?

I hope, we don't get a discussion about mailinglists on the talk-list.
But freelist is not really a good idea. All the messages, the whole archive, is
also visible for google and other search engines.
And freelist can also unsubscribe people...
Last time, more and more lists are moved to
Good point: the e-list provider isnt important so long as they get the job
done in a professional manner for a professional list from a professional
company selling a High Tech Product.
I am out on this thread until we hear from Chris that AI Squared has
resolved the problem with their provider,
Rick and list,
We are working with our hosting provider to try and rectify the situation.

Hi and Thanks Chris:
If you are using a e-mail provider lean on them using the technicals.
It is their responsibility to handle the plumbing indeed.

Seriously, I would suggest that this is not that important as you would
like it to be, it's not as if most WE users even subscribe to this list,
and most people on this list are not even experiencing this problem.
