Hi BK:
If you want to hear what you are typing when you type a password, you
can type it in Notepad, then cut and paste it into the Password field.
I know this is a long way to go about it, but it works if you really
want to here the characters that you type.

Myself, I only copy and paste my password for logging into my bank
account because it's like 18 characters long. The rest of my passwords I
type them in. I don't hear anything when I type in passwords

nothing. All my passwords are stored on a thump drive, not in my
computer! I say,
Marvin, I have been typing for forty years, but that doesn't make me
infallible. Humans still can make a mistake. No one is infallible.

Sorry to be a bit of a crab but a novel idea might be to practice typing
until you get good enough to type passwords accurately. I've been
working with blind students

It's done this way for security. Think about it a sighted person
couldn't
see it either it would appear as stars or dots
I would never keep a password file on my computer. I would write them down
in braille. Pam.

I have
I confess that I also have a text file where all the passwords are listed.
The file has a very obscure name so hopefully is safe enough.
But when I have a complicated and difficult to remember password, I too copy
and paste it across.

I didn't know you could turn this feature off in Window-eyes.
All my devices do the same for passwords so just assumed it was something I
was stuck with.

WE does the same thing, and as much as I don't like not knowing what I am
typing, I like the security of knowing I am typing my password in the
correct field.

Hello, jaws says star, star, star, when I type in a password. Does
anyone know how to change this so that jaws will say what is actually
being typed. I like to hear the actual characters, so I know I am typing
the password correctly. Thanks.
