When i go with the mouse all i ehar is bling bling bling bling bling bling. Windows is making the sound, like i can't read anything. This seems very unusual. I should be able to see the progress, right? I'm copying from a harddrive to a USB stick. I am using the latest window-eyes and windows 10. Major java problem with 9.5.3
I successfully downloaded and installed i.5.3. When I rebooted, my Java updater installed a new version of Java. Now, whenever I try to do anything in Firefox or Internet Explorer, I get messages saying that the Java plug-in has crashed, inviting me to either stop the plug-in or continue. In IE I get a java error. Whether I stop the plug-in or continue, WE is unable to read anything in Firevox or IE and I can't get into Task manager to close it out. I also can't interact with anywebsite. Although I still get the errors, I can at least continue working using JAWS. How do I fix this problem? Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks. RE: unable to see progress wehn copying files
Hi Jed, Assuming the progress window is in focus, press Control-Shift-T to read the title bar of the progress window. Also, by default, Window-Eyes will automatically read the progress percentage, and you should hear ascending tones, every five percent. RE: Introducing Window-Eyes 9.5.3
I've successfully downloaded and installed Win-Eyes 9.5.3 on my Windows 7 Desktop PC. I'm running Outlook 2013, and I, too, hear lines of text being repeated. It's better if I opoen the message, then hold down the control key after speech begins. Of course, that stops all speech. Then I issue the read-to-end command to hear the text. Even then, however I usually hear lines being repeated, always at the top of the message, but occasionally further down, too, as if a new paragraph causes it. What's more, the process of hitting Enter to open the message is followed by a long pause before reading begins, like perhaps 2 or 3 seconds, and then tapping the control key to stop speech, then issuing the read-to-end command--well, you get the idea, it's a real trial of one's patience! And it's been going on for quite some time, by which I mean for at least 4 upgrades now, and I've written e-mails of complaint about it long, long before today. Kind of makes me wonder if you totally remove Thunderbird and reinstall it maybe that is it. RE: pdf tables
Hi Mike, If the table is truly formatted as a table, then you use the CapsLock or dedicated Insert key in conjunction with the dedicated arrow keys to move among the cells. However, unlike in web browsers or email programs, you must first enter table mode using Control-Numpad-Plus. Also, to exit table mode you would press Control-Numpad-Minus. IE favorites with Windows 10
Running the latest version of Win 10 64 bit and latest version of WE. On what seems to be a totally random event I will open IE and then go to my favorites. I can arrow down the list and then press enter to go to that entry. You would expect IE to then open that web page but in these random cases nothing happens at all. When this happens none of the favorites work. The only solution I have found is to close IE and reboot the computer. It will then work correctly until that next random time when it fails again.
