Re: Disgussion of problems with keyboards.
with wlm you do not need to use f8. you can highlight copy and paste with the normal windows commands because browse mode is off. go to the beginning of the text and hold the shift key while arrowing down the screen to the last line you want to move. control x to cut to clipboard. arrow to where you want it to be and paste the text with control v. -Original Message- From: Dave Basden via Talk Sent: Wednesday, April 29, 2015 10:38 AM To: Pamela Dominguez ; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Disgussion of problems with keyboards. This is true in any email composition window because none of them use browse mode. F8 is only used in browse mode which is only active when viewing messages and only if the email client supports it. RE: random repetition of subjectline
Hi Pam, One thing that can cause unwanted speech with Window-Eyes is the tool-tips speech setting. You can tell when this is your problem, because you start hearing speech after every line usually, and it's the same speech. Then, if you move your mose to an empty corner of the window, this unwanted speech stops. When that happens, it's reading the line the mouse is on, due to some confusion over it being a tooltip, and it happens every time you press a cursor key. To stop it, go into your settings, in the general group, and I think in the Other group is a setting for reading tooltips, and you can set it to off and save your settings. RE: Window Eyes not reading lines correctly
Pam, I mentioned in an earlier note to you (when I was in a real hurry), about having the same problem with a different program. It turned out to be that I needed to really increase the cursor delay a lot, because it was only happening when I was using the read to end (or setting it up to read the X number of lines on a new page in browse mode, which uses read to end to do that). I had to create a .set file for my program, but I am guessing you have one for WLM you can work with. Try making sure it's loaded, going to the cursor keys options, expanding them to find the options group, and then tabbing over to set these options: * find the scope button for cursor delay, and set the scope to program. This allows you to have a different setting for this, just for this .set file, which won't effect anything else. * tab once more, and change the cursor delay from 1 to 20 (that's what I picked anyway). * save your .set file settings. Now, try reading your mail again and see if things are better; if not, it's easy to undo these changes. Please do let me know either way if it helps or not. RE: Disgussion of problems with keyboards.
Hi, This is correct. When you are writing an email, you are not in browse mode, the f8 key will not work. You'd use normal selection method. When reading an email you are in browse mode.
