Re: minor help with Windows Live Mail

2016-11-03 Thread Robert Ringwald via Talk

Kim Lingo writes:

I finally got help from an I.T. person to get my email program set up to
give me audio feedback from the spell checker. I know that some email
programs have hotkeys, or Window-Eyes has hotkeys that work for them. I’m
trying to find out if any one out there knows of a key in Windows Live Mail
to read the sentence in the message where there is supposed to be a
mis-spelled word. I can get the suggestions all right, but sometimes it
helps to have the context.

(snip)

I have the same problem with WLM. I can't see the word that is being
corrected. Sometimes I can figure it out. But sometimes I can't. My sighted
wife can see it but Window-Eyes does not read it.

Help needed.

Subject: wineyes speech loud during bootup

When I first bought this laptop I had to log in. Once I updated to win
ten I set it to boot to the desktop. Ever since then, a synthesize
voice comes up real loud at the point where it passes the login screen,
then I hear a short jingle, then Decaccess 32 starts at a much lower
voice. What can I do to either get rid of this login voice, or turn it
down. Keep in mind I don't even know which synthesizer it is. First boot
in the morning can be quite a jolt from this loud voice.
Win ten anniversary edition and most current wineyes.

well, you can add them, but they come back from time-to-time, but
once you add them, you do not have to click on yes and if you have to
add one for outgoing mail, the mail will not go out till you do. to
add them, you do the following:

1: press alt plus t for tools then p for personalities
2: arrow to the account that is receiving the notice, if only one
account, press alt plus enter on domanant otherwise alt plus enter at
the selected account
3: once there, you are on the outgoing mail properties, shift tab 6
times to secure socket when sending ssl info button and press enter
if incoming mail, first press ctrl plus tab to move to the incoming
mail properties then do the first part of the step

4: shift tab to certificate manager button and press enter
5: now, press the right arrow till nothing is spoken by the screen reader
6: now, tab 9 times to add certificate button and press the space bar
7: now, find the done button at the bottom of the screen and press
the left mouse button. you're almost done.
8: tab to the ok button and press enter and then tab to the ok button
once more and press enter.

you may have to close all windows with ctrl+w and then open the inbox
with ctrl+1.
if you only have one account, you can find the incoming and outgoing
catagories with alt+t then o for options and is easier to exit back
to the inbox from there.

RE: microsoft edge support:

2016-11-03 Thread Sky Mundell via Talk
Absolutely. Although, I will say that, having a built in screen reader, like
Apple does, would have made getting jobs easier and that would have ensured
that employers wouldn't have to go spending out for a screen reader. The
other advantage of MS having Narrator is that they can control and test for
accessibility using Narrator. However, there is a downside to this. The
downside is that if you want tech support with Narrator, you won't be able
to get it. Also, Narrator in windows 10 doesn't have braille display
support, scripting, etc, etc, etc, like JAWS, Window-Eyes, or NVDA does. I
think their will still be a need for 3rd party screen readers to exist. You
guys should also be aware that Microsoft has blind people working for them
as well. One guy that works for them is named Kelly ford.

make it better.

1. rather than plain old e-speak. why not switch to speech player in e-speak
with the edward voice as the default voice? it sounds much more like eloquence
and is free.

2. Please add touch support and a touch cursor with keyboard emulation like

3. Please add and switch to the tesseract OCR engine for doing OCR. and make it
much easier to recognise pdf files.

suggestions for next version window eyes

2016-11-03 Thread Joshua Kennedy via Talk
I really like the free window eyes for office. But I have a few
suggestions to make it better.

1. rather than plain old e-speak. why not switch to speech player in
e-speak with the edward voice as the default voice? it sounds much more
like eloquence and is free.

2. Please add touch support and a touch cursor with keyboard emulation
like jaws has.

3. Please add and switch to the tesseract OCR engine for doing OCR. and
make it much easier to recognise pdf files.

minor help with Windows Live Mail

2016-11-03 Thread Kim Lingo via Talk
Hi everyone,
I finally got help from an I.T. person to get my email program set up to give
me audio feedback from the spell checker. I know that some email programs have
hotkeys, or Window-Eyes has hotkeys that work for them. I’m trying to find out
if any one out there knows of a key in Windows Live Mail to read the sentence
in the message where there is supposed to be a mis-spelled word. I can get the
suggestions all right, but sometimes it helps to have the context.

wineyes speech loud during bootup

2016-11-03 Thread brice Mijares via Talk
When I first bought this laptop I had to log in. Once I updated to win
ten I set it to boot to the desktop. Ever since then, a synthesize
voice comes up real loud at the point where it passes the login screen,
then I hear a short jingle, then Decaccess 32 starts at a much lower
voice. What can I do to either get rid of this login voice, or turn it
down. Keep in mind I don't even know which synthesizer it is. First boot
in the morning can be quite a jolt from this loud voice.

Win ten anniversary edition and most current wineyes.

Re: eudora 7.1.9

2016-11-03 Thread Dave Basden via Talk
I've been using it since email first became available at my
university back in the 70's I think it was. I still use it on my
Windows 7 desktop and my Windows 10 tablet. It has taken some
adjustments like forwrding email from my GMail account to another one
that doesn't vheck certificates and getting used to the fact that the
message headers aren't read correctly on my Windows 10 tablet. Still
I can't think of anything about newer email clients that would make
me want to switch.

When I go home and download it should I leave it in it's own
directory so I can get all the extra stuff since I use Verizon as
my provider and they give me a hard time when you use Eudora with a
certificate always trying to trust the certificates which
is a pain to do. I use windows 10 at home and it is giving me a
hell of a time to get used to.

I didn't even think you could still find, let alone use
Eudora. Welcome back to 2005 or so!

I also use Verizon and the last time I tried to use it I couldn't send
or even receive email. I think the program is just plane too old to
work nowadays.

Hi Richard,

Try pressing Control-Shift-I; this should focus the inbox and get you out of
browse mode in the main Outlook window.
Also, note that you must use Control-tab or F6 to jump from the folder tree to
the message list.
Add the Shift key to go backwards, or press the above keystrokes to circle
round.

Hth,

Rod
