Is there a way to easily get to the bookmarks with chrome? The only way I
know how to do it is hit the alt key then arrow down to bookmarks which is
not as easy as pulling up the favorites in IE.

Hi listers:

I pretty much think like the rest of you, but, I am curious if you have
heard if anyone at CSUN directly asked the folks at the VFO booth about
Window-Eyes' future.

I know the next release of Fusion incorporates JAWS; that is clear enough.
But, I have not heard a word on the few podcasts I listened to.

I bet all this is making Doug sick. This is something he put a good portion
of his life into

Doug has written some other great programs before, also. I didn't use
Vocal-Eyes, but, I used the heck out of Term-Talk. That was back in my
Apple II days. I even tried his competitor modem program, but, found it had
a couple weird glitches with file downloading. So, Term-Talk was my main
comm program back then.

Great.

Remember that many of the browse mode functions for navigation work with Chrome.

Isn't it strange of Microsoft that their browsers are falling behind in
accessibility compatibility, and that they've deliberately shut screen readers

Hi Vaughan,
Cheers for the heads up on Google Chrome. I installed it earlier this morning,
and once I found where to import my favourites from IE, I've been picking sites
at random, searching, browsing, and waiting for the dreaded crash, that happily
never arrived. It takes a bit of getting used to, but like anything new, in a
day or so I probably won't even notice, except for trying to use the IE key
combinations that have been ingrained over so many years.

Pam,
This reminds me of a strange occurrence I forgot about. For some reason
when I'm in IE and I take a break, whether it's for an hour or just to
go get a cup of coffee, sometimes when I come back nothing will read on
the page. But I haven't lost speech, just browse mode. So nothing speaks
if I arrow around. And Control-Shift-A does nothing. But if I press
Alt-D to go to the address bar that speaks. then I press F6 to jump back
to the page and I land right where I was and everything works fine.

Chrome isn't using a ribbon, it is using a vertical menu. IE it doesn't have a

Will WE Work with Chrome?

2017-03-12 Thread Matthew Chao via Talk
Hi, Folks. I thought I skimmed through something on this list regarding
Chrome working with WE. Does it work, and if so, are there any
different keyboard commands for it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Edge

2017-03-12 Thread Chris G via Talk

Set your default browser from something other than edge.
From the start menu search box, type default browser and press enter.

You can then switch to Internet Explorer or any other browser you have
installed.

Every time I go on to the internet,Edge keeps coming up and renders access
impossible. Can I delete the wretched program or is there some other means
of blocking it? I am running Windows 10 anniversary addition and I think
Window-Eyes 9.5.

Re: A time to have another look at Google Chrome

2017-03-12 Thread Jim via Talk

Hi Vaughan,
Cheers for the heads up on Google Chrome. I installed it earlier this
morning, and once I found where to import my favourites from IE, I've been
picking sites at random, searching, browsing, and waiting for the dreaded
crash, that happily never arrived. It takes a bit of getting used to, but
like anything new, in a day or so I probably won't even notice, except for
trying to use the IE key combinations that have been ingrained over so many
years.

Regards.
Jim.

Subject: A time to have another look at Google Chrome

Hi all.

The current discussion regarding instability between Window-Eyes and
Internet Explorer prompted me to take another look at Google's Chrome
browser.

The last time I did this was at least six months ago, and I was not then
prepared to become a convert.

Now: i'm having strong new impressions which encourage me to stay with
Chrome for more than half an hour.

I've not yet taken it to a truly challenging site - looking at the Mosen
Consulting site at present.

I plan shortly to do some banking, newspaper reading and possibly other
stuff.

Worth a look if people have not yet done so.

Vaughan.
