Sweet! I might be young at heart, but I doubt you'll find many hairs

Hi Lloyd,
Yes, I've seen that myself, and the way to avoid overwriting default.set with
modified settings is to open the set file prior to associating it with any
application.
Best,
Rod

Hi Rod,
Well, you are going to be as uh, maybe astonished as I have been. Here
is my little story, grin.
I have rebooted the computer and still come up with the same Goldwave
issue. Yes, I am also using the default setting. I decided to try to
see what happens with Jaws. I used the 2018
Sometimes I have attempted to save a new configuration and it went into
default.set rather than the SET file I had intended.

Hi Carol,
Yes, we're using the same version of GoldWave.
My arrow keys are as silent as the tomb.
Just to be clear, it is with Window-Eyes that you are getting this verbosity?
Also, if you are in the window where you can play and scroll around your file,
and you open the WE control panel, what

I've been trying to stop W.E. from automatically starting with computer
boot-up. I went into general, start up options andapparently not hitting the
right buttons. Several tries. Can somebody walk me through the correct
sequence?
Much thanks in advance.

Hi Rod,
I am using 6.31, or that is what the download version calls itself. The
tag on the desktop says it is version 6.1.0.0. It is the latest
version, I think from around July or something like that.
Do your arrow keys say anything when you press them? Mine did not
before installing
Hi Carol,
I'm using the current version of GoldWave, which is 6.31, and I'm wondering if
this is one of the issues from earlier versions which the developer addressed.
Best,
Rod

Hello,
I can not get the arrow keys to stop speaking in Goldwave. I am running
(as far as I know) the latest version of Win 10 and the latest

Whenever I press an arrow key (any key, it doesn't matter which one) WE

Thanks Tom. I have already made the changes to the control properties.
It did stop the delays.

Hi Carol,
I’m glad the instructions worked for your brother.
Just to let you know, the set file I have associated with GoldWave is
default.set, if that may be the problem.
Best,
Rod
