RE: Jaws discussion list?

2018-10-26 Thread Amanda Lee via Talk
Yes, JAWS uses ctrl-f which is the Windows Find command. It can maintain
past searches which is handy on websites. I interact with a rather complex
site for entering Tickets for Service Request Incidents and it is called
Service Now. It I have to use the Find command in JAWS often to find
certain Tabs and so on. I don't have to always enter the same criteria over
and over per instances whereby I repeat the same or similar work in this
site.

Hey thanks for this website. I am in exactly the same boat as you. I am a
reluctant convert, or more precisely a reconvert, since I did use JAWS until
I got Window Eyes in late 2007. I still use Window Eyes sometimes, but the
amount of time I have JAWS loaded is gradually increasing. Eventually, I
know, I will have to use it all the time, but not quite yet.
Something I would like to know is, does JAWS have a repeat Find key like
Window Eyes does. You know, when you press insert-f in Window Eyes, it looks
for the same text as you entered previously so you don't have to keep
entering it again. I'd like to know if JAWS has the same feature. It comes
in handy on websites sometimes and in documents and I've gotten to like it.
Thanks for any help on this.

I aim to learn at least one thing every week from Raul's tutorials.

The first command I learnt was how to read without having to constantly
arrow down and mostly hold down the insert key and tap the down arrow key or
hold down the insert key and tap 2 on the numpad.

But like Window-eyes you can read by letter, word, line, sentence, paragraph
etc. etc and the tutorials will show you how this is done.
