Have you tried e-mailing the developers? In addition, maybe doing a Google search may give you some insights. Recently, someone here posted a series of steps, beginning with going into tools. Did you try those steps? I only ask because you did not indicate whether or not they worked. On

Under the View menu, you may also want to open the Layout choice. Make sure only the Classic View, and the Folder Pane are checked. By no means, and NEVER, the Message Pane should be checked. It is a security risk and disaster altogether in itself, so make sure it is unchecked. David On

Hi did you try going in the view menu of Thunderbird and arrowing there to bind the choice that says message body as. Then once you found that then hit your right arrow and then down arrow to basic HTML or simple HTML and if you find one of those hit enter and then close the message and reopen
