Maybe someone on this list can point him to a link where he can download
either 2 or 3 audio tutorials on using and setting up Thunderbird.

Under the View menu, you may also want to open the Layout choice.
Make sure only the Classic View, and the Folder Pane are checked.
By no means, and NEVER, the Message Pane should be checked. It is a
security risk and disaster altogether in itself, so make sure it is
unchecked.

, turn it off. You can always turn it back on. My
experience is that it did little that I cannot live without, and ended up
giving more trouble than anything. Not even sure if it still is being
maintained.
Next thing is to make sure thunderbird is clean.
1. Under the File menu in TB, run the choice

Sorry, I've not been following the Thunderbird thread as i never use
Thunderbird. Found I didn't like it several years ago. But to each
their own.
However, is the problem, you cannot read the text you've just typed?
Does it allow you to read incoming mail?

Unless anyone has any other suggestions, i think i have to give up on
thunderbird. I am absolutely floored that noone else is having this

Just switched to I.E. as default browser, from Firefox. Nice to have mouse
pointer gback. Hope I don't have crash problems. There were just too many
sites that I could'nt open links without mouse pointer.
