RE: router suggestions

2016-07-21 Thread Chris Grabowski via Talk
The buffalo router you have is a stripped down DDWRT, IE buffalos own. While
it is accessible routers running DDWRT are very accessible. I have a nighthawk
from Netgear running the firmware.
Also stock firmware running on Asus routers is accessible. Stock firmware on
the netgears is also accessible.

Hope this helps.

Good question. I have heard rumors that it is usable. I believe Chris from our
support team has some experience using the web interface used by the DD-WRT
firmware. He might have some insight to share.

I like the ASUS WI-FI routers. The installation disk is pretty simple to
use if you stick to the recommended standard settings. Your also notified
when installation is complete.

I should also say in fairness that my ASUS wireless router was bought in
2011 and still going strong today.

You might look at the Asus and Netgear brands.

The last Linksys I tried wasn't but the Asus and Netgear stock firmware seems
to be accessible.
I also tried a tp-link archer and it also failed the accessibility test. It
wasn't fun to use and was promptly returned.

If you wanted to install third party firmware on your router the DD-WRT
firmware is accessible.
Just some thoughts.
