No need to apologize Vaughan because I was just as confused as everybody

I am astounded that someone from Ai Squared did not make an announcement

Their policy has long been not to announce updates until they're ready

(language packs) v1.0 - Build numbers 1.0.1.4693 Vocalizer Expressive
v1.3 (for Windows-Eyes) - Build numbers 1.3.0.13329

invalid. Inspection and validation of certificates is a process

Warning When Disabling Security Options

Various websites provide steps for disabling Windows security options
with the expectation that unsigned software executables will start and
run. Disabling these security options will not fix these problems for
the ZoomText and Windows-Eyes products and may compromise security and
protection from malware. Ai Squared strongly recommends against
disabling these security options.
Conclusion

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you, but
assure you we are doing everything possible to rectify this matter as
soon as possible. To minimize downtime, we encourage you to update
your software as soon as possible.

Re: certificate revoked message from Ai Squared

2017-01-17 Thread Loy via Talk
I did a search from the AISquared web site and found this page. I don't really
know what this certificate is about Maybe this has something to do with the
merger and the certificate has to be renewed under the new company.

Thanks Sky, and my sincere apologies to Neville and the list members. I was
wrong!

However: would have been helpful if AI Squared put the news out through its
various distribution mechanisms - including this list.

So: lets all be ready - and once again, just confirming my apology.

Vaughan.

Affected Ai Squared Software Products

When attempting to start the following Ai Squared software products,
the product will fail to launch and display a Windows error message:
"A referral was returned from the server"
ZoomText Magnifier - Build numbers 10.10.8 through 10.11.6 ZoomText
Magnifier/Reader v10.1 - Build numbers 10.10.8 through 10.11.6

Looks like a hoax to me. as of this morning, I've had constructive email
dialogue with Doug about a completely different issue, and so I'm reassured
that Window-eyes is still being looked after. Thus: an announcement like this
would actulaly come from an official AI Squared source. If this bug did exist,
it would have become apparent to Doug and colleagues a long time ago, and the
fix would have already been in place.

Various websites provide steps for disabling Windows security options with the
expectation that unsigned software executables will start and run. Disabling
