Kathy,
Press ctrl-alt-left arrow until you hear the word volume.
Next, press ctrl-alt-down arrow to move the volume down to a lower level
or ctrl-alt-up arrow to move the volume higher.

Re: changing the volume of Window-Eyes

2015-05-04 Thread Mike Rogers via Talk
If you want to change the volume and have it stay at that level, all the time,
open your control panel with control - backspace, go to screen, then voice.
Tab to volume and adjust the volume. Then tab to save settings and hit
enter. Then, the volume won't revert, when you re-boot.

Hope this helps.

Mike

2015-05-04 Thread net bat via Talk

you don't say if this is a laptop or desktop.
with my desktop i leave the volume full volume number 9 and use the volume
control on the powered speakers.
i would be careful useing the control alt arrow keys to change the voices.
most computers that have real tec audio chipsets and they use the same keys
to rotate the screen sideeways and upside down and would need to be disabled
first before you can use the w e keys to change the voices on the fly.
and even so you can still save these changes. you do not have to open the w
e control panel to manually change the screen, keyboard and mouse voices
from the control panel.

RE: [EXTERNAL] RE: changing the volume of Window-Eyes

I think that the issue of screen rotation was addressed in the latest
version of WE because the keyboard is hooked at a lower level.

Hi,

Your caution is valid for versions of Window-Eyes prior to 9.1.
However, are you saying that hooking the keyboard at a lower level, as
Window-Eyes
9.1 is supposed to do, does not always intercept these key combinations?

Thanks,

Rod
