All, I'm sure it's out there someplace, but I've failed to find anything
to help me download/install/use iD with my own tile server. (Which
contains a subset of OSM tiles.)

いろいろとユースケースを思いめぐらして見るに、番と号を別にしておくと、「2-1」、「二-一」、「2番1号」といった様々な出力フォーマットへの対応が楽なので、分けたほうがいいかなと再考中。それでもaddr:housenumberは「番」のほうがいいだろうとは思います。一つにまとめるならデリミタは明示しておくべきでしょうね。
