The orange shapes indicate the latest added imagery. This is so that people
can concentrate on these areas for tracing on the assumption that existing
imagery have already been traced before.

You can actually toggle the data layers by hovering your mouse pointer over
the layer icon on the upper-right corner. The orange shapes are toggled by
the Bing (new since Sep 2013) layer.
