Hi,
I have written a small command-line-tool mainly for extracting specific
tracks together wit its way-points out of a large gpx-file. I use it to
get the tracks from one day out of my always growing Current.gpx (Garmin
nüvi 550).

Hi,
anyone here, who has experiences on using Garmins nüvi 550 for
collecting data and exporting this for use in OSM?
Cheers, Ingo

Only if several English native-speaker would confirm, that
castle_type=defensive does not clearly define a "Burg" I would use the
local terms.

tool, which can be used to select the tracks from f.e. today or the
last week. (GPSBable did not do that, it even does not work with
selecting by a radius - at least not here)
Thanks for any hints, Ingo

The other possibility would be to define all three tags as a separate
node, with its own symbol and rules.
Beside of the tag-name: I still have no idea, how new

Probably there is more than just one rule for pubs in osm-map-features-
z17.xml. I had this situation for example with hotels. IIRC there were
at least 3 rules for them:
amenity:hotel --> caption
amenity:hotel --> symbol
tourism:hotel --> symbol
