OSM data is not only for deficient PT routes. Think about a user who would see
2 bus stops on the map where there is only one in reality. Or about a user for
whom a search query in some app would produce two features at the same location
when only one expected. Don’t you worry about

I’ve noticed that some objects with
railway=halt/station + station=tram
tagging were created recently in Berlin. I know it's uncommon to tag tram stops
as railway stations. Overpass query

reveals only 109 such objects worldwide, half of

estimate New York Subway to be in not much more worse state. Efforts of already
involved mappers are not sufficient to quickly put all subways in order.
