This is exactly how I envisaged that it would be done - well done.
Will use the same methodology for the Alcohol Free Zone in central Bendigo
(when I get the chance).
I decided tonight I might try and play around with alcohol-free zones
using a few relations using North Sydney as an example.
The area=yes option also works.
People want to know that an AFZ exists. People will see the signs when they
get there to determine if they can have alcohol on this side of the road or
not. It is a level of accuracy that I am not sure is warranted by the
creation of another polygon (which also

Has anyone tagged an alcohol free zone before, if so how?
They cover parks/foot paths etc, so I guess some sort of area would be
applicable, I should pester the local cop who got them put in place as
to the exact areas covered.

I know Bendigo has an 'alcohol free zone' which would be useful to capture.
Initial thoughts are that it is best represented as a relation, made up of
the ways (roads etc) that form the outer boundary. Just need to define a new
relation 'type' (Alcohol Free Zone) and 'restriction' (alcohol?).

The same thing happens here as well John.
So you are saying that specific playgrounds etc are AFZ's as well. So in
those instances they would be part of a relation (with a single object ie
the polygon representing the playground).
I think relations are the best option for AFZ's because they allow

so if the park is only a rough guess, are you going to be able to define the
AFZ any better?
So long as the relation is attached to the polygon (or other feature), when
that feature gets updated so will the relation.
I will take a stab at doing one for Bendigo and post it onto the list for
