Apologies, in this context vandalism is either intentionally or unintentionally changing someone elses work whilst creating your own. Well the modern Ulster Way is made up of link sections as you say. The part on my area is the Sliabh Beagh Way - https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/

Hi, Unfortunately this seems to be a general issue with relations - I have had the same experience as you with walking routes, but also with public transport routes, and in both Spain and Ireland. I would guess that part of the problem is that these relations are not shown on the "standard layer"
