[Talk-us] TopOSM

I was just on TopOSM [1] which appears to be very outdated. Does anyone
know who maintains this site?

Re: [Talk-it] problema lanes e oneway (ERA:lanes 2)

primary
lanes 2
lanes:backward 1
lanes:psv:forward 1

lanes va comunque inserito oneway yes e psv opposite lane?
usati contemporaneamente

grazie

I use Claws Mail since ~15 years and read OSM MLs using the

Re: [Talk-it] relazione route=mtb

2016-05-20 Per discussione Volker Schmidt
Io metterei
ref=pista 1
route=mtb

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Belgium/De_Lijndata#Download_relevant_data_from_Openstreetmap_with_Overpass_API

presente. 7z.exe viene de 7zip.

[OSM-talk] Geotechnology - Nicaragua’s experience with child and youth participation

2016-05-20 Per discussione Felix Delattre
Dear worldwide OSM community,

last year, we, the Nicaraguan OSM community realized a wonderful
collaboration with UNICEF to map on the Caribbean Coast together with
children of different ages to identity the dangerous places in their
environment.

We now have a complete document documenting the workshops, the methods
and everything available in English language:
http://en.unicef.org.ni/media/publicaciones/archivos/Geotecnologias_participativas_29_04_16_INGLES.pdf

“/These kinds of initiative share new knowledge and encourage
innovation/,” commented Philippe Barragne-Bigot, the UNICEF
Representative in Nicaragua, talking about the results of the mapping in
Bluefields. “/They also include children and adolescents, giving them
the opportunity to participate as thinkers and implementers, identify
places of risk and propose solutions to the problems. These experiences
can change children’s lives and also have the potential to change their
environment and—why not?—the world./” (http://en.unicef.org.ni/prensa/140/)

Please feel free to use the information and document for similar
projects you might be working on.

Best,
Felix

2016-05-20 Per discussione Carlos Cámara
Hola,

consulta, y por otro, aunque he barajado (y utilizado) overpass turbo,

Saludos,

Carlos

Hola Carlos,

que he incorporado a QGIS.

sobreescriba mi archivo gejson (o shp o similar).
llevado a encontrar Overpass API python wrapper (

Agreed - and in the case of the one I'm familiar with it's not a stock
issue but a bureacracy one - anything written "upstairs" by a doctor
apparently has to be fulfilled by the (outsourced) hospital pharmacy.
I've never tried to redeem a "regular" prescription there, but they do
sell the normal high-street pharmacist add-ons, so they don't just rely
on the closed shop of hospital-written prescriptions.

In my experience there are certain prescription which I can only get
fulfilled by a hospital pharmacy (those written by a consultant).

I've never tried to get my regular prescriptions at such locations, so
possibly we need a tag to discriminate between them. In a large teaching
hospital it's certainly worthwhile to know where these are located.

[OSM-talk] Gamification in Volunteered Geographic Information in regard with Contributors' Motivations

2016-05-20 Per discussione Chen Chen
Hello,

My name is Chen Chen and I am a Masters student working under the
supervision of Dr. Peter Johnson in the Department of Geography and
Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo. We are currently
seeking volunteers from the OpenStreetMap (OSM) community to participate in
a study that focuses on the impact of game elements on motivations to
contribute to OSM. We would like to invite you to join our study.

Participation in this study involves a web questionnaire, with a potential
follow-up interview. The link to the web questionnaire is:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/osmvgigamification. The questionnaire should
take approximately 20 minutes of your time. This study has been reviewed and
received ethics clearance through a University of Waterloo Research Ethics
Committee.

In appreciation of the time you have given to this study, you can enter your
email address into a draw for a $50 Amazon Gift Card. Your odds of winning
the prize is based on the number of individuals who participate in the
study. The final decision about participation is yours.

Sincerely,

[Talk-us] RFC: San Francisco building import (San Francisco, California, USA)

2016-05-20 Per discussione Brandon Liu
Hi,

We are proposing an import of the CC0-licensed building height data
for San Francisco [0].

This import will not add new buildings - instead, we're conflating the
available LIDAR height data with existing OSM building footprints. The
data was collected in 2011 and covers the city/county of San
Francisco. 161,473 OSM buildings have heights that can be derived from
LIDAR.

This import is low-impact - the only changes being made are adding a
height tag to buildings that don't have one yet. We have a working
process and task manager set up, and would now like the community to
review our plan. We've contacted the local OSM user group [1] as well.

We've set up a public chat channel on Gitter to discuss the import [2].

This has been cross-posted to talk-us@, imports-us@ and imports@.

Thank you,

Brandon Liu, github.com/bdon

On je ten taskman delany primarne pro HOSM. Takze predpoklada ze se mapuje

When Mozilla decide to freeze development on Thunderbird the team split off
and created Postbox. I have Postbox and use it so bug me directly and I'll
see if it has the features you want. It is very similar to Thunderbird and

mutt + procmail + mairix

Sorting all osm related stuff into a seperate folder ... Mairix so index
and search ... mutt for reading - yes - one can still read mails in 2016
on a 80x25 character terminal ...

I have to agree with some of your comments about thunderbird, and some
of the quirks introduced over time are a pain, but I currently manage
some 25Gb of email traffic going back 20 years and thunderbird is the
only client that does not complain as well as providing fast local searches.

What we do perhaps need is a more concerted effort to engage with
developers like he thunderbird team and explain why some choices do
cause problems. My own pet hate currently is I think related to your
'ignored thread'. If I have messages threaded, but hide some then the
'nice feature' that handles then as a group simply fails to display
properly ... but here is not the place to be complaining :)

Hey, Iam currently using thunderbird to manage my mailinglists (most of
them are osm-lists). But Iam regularly peeved because thundebird lacks a
lot of useful features. For example, when I mark a thread as ignored,
new posts are still counted, even when there are no new mails for my
visible threads.

However, Iam interested what you use to read the osm mailing lists? I
know nabble for example, but dont like it to use another tracking (?)
service. Arent there better Email Clients than thunderbird?

If it helps, what I've done when things like this have happened in the
past is:

1) Edit failing OSC files to not include relation changes that cause
problems - i.e. get all the ways and nodes in OSM how you want them.

2) Find the "desired version" of the relation that you want to update,
and try and apply that (e.g. via level0). It'll fail, so find out which
ways don't exist, take them out of the relation details you're trying to
upload and try again.

3) Obviously now you'll have gaps in the relation - either fill them in
manually if it's obvious, or figure out where the deleted ways that used
to be in the relation were (by looking at undeleted nodes and the
history of deleted nodes), and use that information to fill in gaps.

As to "what caused it", there were examples of "relation contents being
lost in JOSM uploads" a while back, but I've not heard reports of recent
problems**, though there were reports of API upload slowness a few days
ago (much discussed elsewhere - and in fact the message at the top of
#osm still says "Ongoing server issues, sysadmins are on the case").
With any change in OSM it makes sense to double check the changes that
you've made immediately after you've made them - did you really mean to
make all changes in the resulting changeset? Are all relations intact? etc.

Cheers,

Andy

[Talk-us] Restoring bus routes in Portland

2016-05-20 Per discussione Arun Ganesh
Requesting for help from those experienced with managing relations. We have
a group of changesets that caused a breakage in multiple route relations in
Portland.

The issue was reported today by Portland mapper Peter who has been mapping
the TriMet routes on the Mapbox data team project tracker for adding turn
lanes. The relation members of around 20 routes and some turn restrictions
have been replaced by another route accidentally. After speaking to the
mapper, the entire incident has been documented here [1].

Currently it is unclear how to recreate such a scenario and if it was a
mapper oversight or software issue that caused so many relations to change
without being noticed. We still need to restore the routes to its previous
state and the workflow/tools for this does not seem very clear.

Reverting the changesets are causing multiple conflicts and there does not
seem to be a mechanism to just restore relation membership to a historical
version. Any help and ideas appreciated

[OSM-talk-be] volunteer at SotM

2016-05-20 Per discussione joost schouppe
Hi,

There's a registration page for volunteers, hooray!

http://goo.gl/forms/HcMrIZYBI0Mutyf72

There is no real list of tasks defined yet, but you'll be the first to know
if you register :)
Also welcome to help out organizing the volunteering itself.

As mentioned here before (and on the form) volunteers get free entrance. If
you have too much money, you can still buy a ticket of course. If you have
too little money, you can also apply for a free ticket through the
scholarship program. But be quick, as it closes this Sunday.

l'antenne.

On je ten taskman delany primarne pro HOSM. Takze predpoklada ze se mapuje dle
satelitnich snimku.
