I just bumped into what appears to be a new Pokemon Go-inspired volunteer
(https://www.osm.org/user/Sentinelprimek, joined OSM just yesterday) editing
near me in Silicon Valley and San Diego at the UCSD campus, where I'm also
familiar.
In case you are wondering what to look for, it seems
I just came across this OSM user diary which links to yet another article
on how to manipulate OSM for Pokemon:

The bothersome part is the replies to the diary entry where people bring up
the new edits they've made for the game. Since I'm
Been following the thread - my two cents on what I'm seeing around Florida.
1) Seems like a major increase in new mappers and edits in just the past
two weeks, and before that an increase overall since the pokemon / osm
connection was publicized.
2) Many /most of the influx of new mappers are
I do in fact know one of the areas that he edited quite well. He added
"Mission Koi Pond" at a location that contained a large building (shown on
the Bing imagery) that I can confirm was still there yesterday. It is the

Andy,
Yesterday I responded to a months worth of new editors in a single day.
Most of the edits were not vandalism although a few were. Some were
exceptional with the amount of detail added. What I've noticed mostly is
footpaths not connected to streets, buildings not being square and poorly

Thanks Clifford and Andy, for the suggestions. Interestingly, Pokemon GO
is what got me interested in this project, but I dislike seeing it abused
with fake data like others are doing. I'll try to keep an eye on activity
around here, and will try to continue updating my area.
