Re: The Talk2 List new facebook is a pile
Just so I can put my few cents worth in here: . Though the new facebook may be trying, there are certain little features that jaws users - it is this market that I target in particular being a user myself - have ignored, though being slightly more arduous than others. Firstly, the news feed from what I can see has little graphics dotting a lot of the little articles which you could navigate with G and Shift=G - although I think that whinging about little things of pressing the arrow keys is quite immaterial. . If you are finding the lack of headings a problem, establish a permanant placemarkers set for specific points in the page to which you can jump between. . If such avenues become too difficult you can - as previously mentioned - use things like M.facebook.com which without the nice fancy things the established facebook has allow with simple rendering your ease of use. I'm not sitting here and advocating that the new facebook is bad or good or the lack of vision of users I'm simply stating some methods that you might use to get around a tricky situation. However, the amount of users who dislike the new facebook hasn't been entirely unnoticed because at least 1,500,000 has attracted the media's attention here in Australia. - Original Message - From: Tasha Raella Chemel To: talk2 Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2008 2:23 PM Subject: Re: The Talk2 List new facebook is a pile i guess that's a valid point, but come on. They're not gonna change it back guys, so get over it. Yes... The profile page is kinda nasty in spots, and removing applications is sort of a pain in the almighty asshole, but it's still totally doable. Personally I like what they did with the news feed by making it in a chronological order, and they needed to have it so you could comment on statuses... That one was a long time in coming. If you really feel the needfor something easier and faster, you can check out m.facebook.com in Firefox, but (at least I can't anyway) access the applications that way. *Sheepishly retreats back into my corner* You learn to love, not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly. The Talk2 List Rejected Relms (Scifi and Fantacy on Demand) - Friday, September 28, 2007
Hello all, This is just a quick heads up for everyone in regards to a show that has just returned to TBRN. Enjoy audio drama? Like to hear stories from beyond our mundane reality? Well tune in at 6 AM eastern, Mondays and Fridays to hear two top notch sci-fi audio dramas, as well as commentary from your hosts, JDX and psychorabbit, both of whom have extensive background in both audio drama and science fiction. We will be mixing the clasics which everyone knows and loves with things no one has heard before, but we can promise you only the best, and we certainly have something to please anyone. This week we started with two cutting edge new dramas. The first, Jefferson 37, tells the story of the world's first cloning institution, harking back to the clasics with minimalist production and a familiar toan. The second drama we are playing is the first in a series which takes sci-fi in new directions. It is essencially a ghost story, chronicling the investigations of Sapphire and Steel, two enigmatic detectives in time. The first story we are playing is The Passenger, a murder mystery on a train heading for an unknown destination, but whose passengers are all already dead. We try to provide a variety of different types of stories and to prove this, we have started with two very different dramas, one light and one very dark. In this way, we hope to keep u interested and entertained. Contact our hosts on air with your comments and suggestions. Just point your media player of choice to http://tbrn.net:/tbrn.ogg and enjoy the right.

This, my friend, is far far away from being starstruck if I do say so myself. And if your problems with public school are motivated by your lack of social interaction with others, I'll be far from surprised. You set quite a bad example for blind teens anywhere. I recommend you take that title off your live journal at your earliest convenience or inconvenience, whichever you'd prefer. Before I turn everyone on this list against me, let me clear up that i do not under any circumstance feel that I either set, have become, or even want to be the standard for blind people in general, let alone those in my age group. Further more, I don't feel that I am at all better, nore am I one of the more fortunate people afflicted with a visual disability. You're wasting your time and the time of others i'm sure by posting this kind of pointlessness on talk2. MOre to the point, if you really want to stay in the good graces of your favorite TBRN radio personality, I speculate that some breathing room for him and yourself is in order. My god, I would have to second, third and fourth this. Before you start making allegations on a public mailing-list, I would make sure that you know the "whole story" before shooting your mouth off about things that you don't even understand. Note the programs name "team TALK". It is designed for team conferencing not streaming live content. Re: The Talk2 List USB Storage Devices
I consider myself very very lucky in a sense as I have a maxtor dedicated 80GB external harddrive which has worked i think for the past 2 years and it still chugs along. I had one bad-sector on it once which crashed the whole drive and the same with my WD but that was due to my computer injecting random things into both of the drives. However, I have found that WD is a very reliable company and I really should try some Seagate. I haven't actually touched them before, but from what you have said Patrick, they are a really good buy and worth looking at. Next year I need to go and get a 320GB harddrive as that is going to be a mirror drive to which my two externals (Maxtor (80GB) and WD (200GB) and other things will be backed up onto. I never had a backup and I really should get one soon! - Original Message - From: Patrick Perdue [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: talk2 talk2@AndreLouis.COM Sent: Tuesday, June 20, 2006 7:14 PM Subject: Re: The Talk2 List USB Storage Devices On 6/20/2006, 4:59:34 AM EDT, Hayden wrote: You should go and get a nice little WD(200GB) and a nice little caddie. Or a seagate! Yay seagate! I've had problems with every last drive manufacturer, but I've had the least amount of problems with seagate, or at least the newer drives. They really did used to be crap, but now they aren't anymore. Also, you get a 5-year manufacturer's warranty with any new Seagate drive you get. Mind you, WD gives you a 3-year one, which I've had to use on a few occasions. I'm not even sure if Maxtor gives you a warranty. All the Maxtor drives I've had that died had to be returned through mwave, while the WD drives were sent and returned from WD themselves. It seems that Seagate and Maxtor/x-quantom have switched places in the crap department. It used to be that Seagate drives were noisy, and would die if you even thought about blowing on them, especially around the 1 to 8 GB era. Quantom drives used to be rather good and reliable. I've got a 10 GB quantom fireball that I got in 1998, and it's still working just fine -- no bad sectors or anything like that. I've even got a couple of 260 MB Quantom drives from the early 90's which both work fine as well. But then, Quantom decided to make the Bigfoot, which was a really bad idea. Then they were bought by Maxtor, which was a worse idea!!! Cringe! They were always the first to come out with big drives. 1998 saw the Maxtor 30 GB drives, which were a really nice flop at the time, as they kept dying, and dying, and dying. I have friends that could tell you all kinds of horror stories about the earliest 30 and 40 GB drives in a server environment... How do I connect to fx radio with winamp? I enter in http://tbrn.net:/fx.aac in the winamp url box and push enter I then get a connecting message and seconds later that winamp has stopped. I have v 5.22 I can connect to all other automated streems.
