as far as I know, the apple box is one thing, the screen has the processer,
main board, hard disk, video cards all in one thing, cd and floppy disk drives.
There is a box where all the power things go, and the moniter and mouse and
keyboard.
and width wise its all small.
And one of these muthers are damn quiet, quieter than any pc I have heard so
far.

Hard drives inside monitors scares me. I'm curious why you like the idea.
For me, having the freedom not to plug in my monitor makes me happy, plus it
would mean you couldn't just buy any old monitor for your comp anymore.

I like the windows keyboard.
Its one thing ms have done right.
The windows key and the app key beside it are actually good, ms hardware
as supposed to their software is mostly good.
I wouldn't mind the power to turn on and off my system from the board
though, have hard drives inside moniters, and other apple things.
On the subject of moniters and such, what does the usb port in some flat
panel moniters used for?
I tried plugging in a usb drive and nothing happpened, the only reason I
can think of is connecting an another lcd.

Nah, that particular keyboard has no applications key.
That's why it was 103, not 104.

Well then it wasn't standard, now was it?
Maybe in an era long ago it would have been, but not in the year 2004.

Re: The Talk2 List Fwd: RE: 208 key keyboard

Oh dear, it seems that Patrick of two and a halfyears ago doesn't know
how to count. The standard number of keys is and has always been one
hundred four. I have a very nonstandard keybeard here, so the issue is a
mute point for me, but when I had a standard keyboard, I remember very
clearly it having one hundred four keys.

Hi Patrick,

What I was meaning was is that 103 key keyboard including the windows
keys? I can't be bothered to count now as I have had a few pints.

Andrew.

I have here a very standard american keyboard with no added function
buttons etc. which has 103 keys.
I also have a keyboard which is standard except for an added function
key, which changes some of the key functions to programmable, which
has 104 keys.

Compaq has these weird freaky keyboards with the space bar split
in half, the standard space on the right, and back space on the left,
also back space being where it normally is, therefore there are two of
the same key. I have one of those keyboards around here somewhere.
