Hi Jim,

Thanks for this resource. A google search found the program right away. I
installed it and it works as advertised.

Note I want to take the time here to bring up a useful tool. If you are use
to office 2003 or earlier or if you would just rather use a menu system
check out a plug in for office called classic menu for office. You can just
press alt+q twice and get a full menu system. The only difference is the
whole menu system is a vertical menu no horizontal menus.

Hi,
Thanks to all those who answered my enquiry on how to navigate the Office
2013 ribbon.

Before purchasing the programme, I shall use the info provided and practice
on the W7 Wordpad ribbon. No doubt the menu items will be a little
different but the concepts should be similar.

Cheers
Neville.

RE: Office 2013 ribbon tutorial

2015-04-26 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Jim,

One thing to notice about the ribbon is that it contains page tabs, so that
you use the tab key for navigation once you find the tab you want using the
arrow keys.
However, within any page, Control-tab will move you through the various
sections of controls, each section being a grouping of similarly-related
controls.
Pressing Control-tab is great also because if you keep using it you'll
eventually get back to the list of page tabs where you can arrow to another
one.
It's not so bad a system really. Smile

Hth,

Rod

Well I love the ribbon idea. My problem is I can never seem to remember
where to find stuff. I mean if the names of the options in the ribbon maid
more sense then I would love it. This is why I use classic menu. Not
because I think the ribbon is bad I just can never remember where stuff is.
I am only 37 I hate to think I am getting set in my ways.

Re: Office 2013 ribbon tutorial

2015-04-25 Thread Neville via Talk

Hi,

This Classic Menu for Office plugin sounds very interesting. Once
installed, does it function on all Office 2013 programmes such as Word,
Excel and Outlook or does it need to be installed for each individual
programme?

Where can it be obtained and is there a cost?

Thanks
Neville.

Office 2013 ribbon tutorial

2015-04-25 Thread Neville via Talk

Hi,
Using W7 HP 32, latest WE

I am contemplating upgrading from Office 2003 to Office 2013 Home and
Business but know nothing about how to navigate the ribbon. Hopefully
there is a tutorial or knowledge base article somewhere which will help
me understand how to interactwith the ribbon prior to shelling out for
Office.

Searching the GW Micro site didn't turn up anything on dealing with the
2013 ribbon so could someone please point me in the right direction?
More than likely there is info available but I couldn't locate it.

Is the method of using the Office 2010 ribbon similar to the 2013 version?

Thanks
Neville.
