Ten years ago - 1997-1998 - definitely not 'golden era' but anyhow,
I went to practicas a lot with a man in his 60s, born in BsAs,
'a real live porteno' ;-)
but at that time residing in Sweden.
He always had his keys hanging from his belt, like Trini describes
it.

The number of those who advertise themselves as teaching tango milonguero or
milonguero style in Buenos Aires is growing along with the demand. It is
unfortunate that dancers actually believe they are learning tango milonguero
from teachers who have never studied or danced with a milonguero.

Hola List!
I'm not a member of TC [Tango Colorado], so I can't post to their message
board on Yahoo Groups- so I am posting this to Tango-L - because it concerns
all tango communities around the world.

Hi Jay,
Very well said. What you have written below is pretty much all I ever do,
crowded or not crowded. I hope followers enjoy it, I do. Of course, doing
these things 'to the music' is most important. I sometimes think when doing
more fancy ganchos and boleos and more complex patterns, some
Before start writing, I should clarify that I believe the experience of
Milongueros and Milongueras is invaluable, and each day this precious life

especially the discussion topics, are amazing and probably say more about
human nature than dance, but just for the heck of it here is a quick list

doug, thanx for posting the video, i imagine that must be what dancing on the
moon looks like, because obviously normal friction and gravity do not affect
their feet. WOW
as for your comment on more about human nature, you should read the
traditional martial arts discussion lists.
Mario and others,
I agree with everything Jay and Ed have said, that is pretty much my repertoire
as well and I dance pretty much only in close now. Sure I know (or knew ;-))
other stuff, but it falls out of my daily dance if I don't find it useful in
expressing the music. Mainly I find that
(there are no tangos in this collection)
