Moin, Jay!

I guess you are talking about this:

Yes, that is what I am talking about. Just now I tried it with my
Caps Lock on, and I could see that it showed that fact okay. But
when everything is normal, it just gives me a rather ugly gray
 rectangle (see attached graphic).

Confirmed:

- Caps Lock on - (Caps) plus warning
- Caps Lock off - rectangle in highlighting color

Cheers!

Sorry, Paul, but I don't follow you. What is the different purpose? In
both cases, is not the purpose to gain access to TB and its stored
information? And are not the actions to input and enter
fundamentally the same - typing some confidential characters and then
pressing Enter or clicking OK?

The reason why I generally recommend using consistent language and
grammar *wherever possible* is mainly to avoid creating an impression
that there is a different purpose or different action if there is not.

There are Master, Account Token PIN passwords used in TB to gain
access to the program and/or specific accounts. Additionally we have
the password to access a given account at the mail host. It is
valuable to have a difference in the dialog for each so the user is
clear as to which password is required. Assuming a password is a
password is a password is dangerous in my opinion. I want my customers
to easily recognize which password is required. Anyone knows that the
need for a password is to gain access. Not everyone knows why and for
what purpose. Therefore there is an obvious need for distinction in
the differing dialogs so one knows which password is required.

Paul, to the extent that the procedure is the same, the wording of the
procedure should also be the same. There is absolutely no value in
changing the word enter to input just to distinguish between a
master password and a token PIN, especially when the sentence already
specifies whether it is a master password or a token PIN.

The distinctions that concern you are best accomplished by simply
changing the title of the dialog box, the pertinent words (in this
case, master password versus token PIN), or both. Telling users
that they must input master passwords but enter token PINs is
pointless and potentially confusing (should both dialog boxes be
viewed and compared).

In any event, this is a small point - not a major issue for this forum
- and I will not argue it further. Feel free to have the last word. :)
