It sounds strange to me. My newsreader (MPGravity) is configured for
threading by reference only and I've never had any issue with improper
threading of my messages. Besides if you look at my References header
you'll see that all references are there. Or did I misunderstood you?

P.S. I can't create my own M-ID (MPGravity doesn't allow it) but it
shouldn't be a problem.

Missing button Reset position of Mailticker(tm)

2011-01-27 Thread Marek Mikus
Hello,
from time to time, users are reporting missing Mailticker, it is set to be
displayed, but it is not.

From some testing, Mailticker is displayed, but outside screen, seems
like some detection of screen size is broken or missing.

So, there should be some screen detection implemented or button Reset
position of Mailticker(tm) added to Preferences.

Suggestions?

|
|The 998 character limit is due to limitations in many implementations

Set both of them to 50

Just checked it. In-Reply-to is not mandatory nor even optional for
usenet usage - it's clearly described in RFC 1036. Then I'm afraid that no
newsreader supports it, but it sound strange to me that you have threading
problems. My newsreader threads everything as it's supposed to be. To be
sure just checked it in Thunderbird's newsreader and it's OK too.

RO Odd.
RO The only difference between your setup and mine is that I'm reading
RO tbbeta via a pop3 account and you appear to do so via imap.

This does appear to be the issue. I read in both IMAP and POP and the POP is
threading properly, but the IMAP does not. Although this is not consistent
either, as it does thread correctly sometimes.

Hello Dwight,

are you sure it was not sent? (Have you confirmed non-receipt with the
 intended recipient?)

I am waiting on his call. It's quite embarrassing to have to call a
person when you really would like to converse with them by email.

The worry is that I have just assumed that previous emails have been
sent but I am starting to have doubts especially emails to those
people who you would like a response from but need to let them do it
their own time.

I hope RIT address some of these total showstoppers before rolling a
nice-to-have extra feature. An email client that you cannot trust is
useless.

For once, I hate to say, it isn't doing well in some regards:

1. When I select a folder in the folder list, all the messages in
the message list for that folder turn alternating black and white. If
I click on a message in that folder, then they turn alternating medium
blue and darker blue. But if I again select the message folder
(including the inbox) on the left, the messages again turn black and
white.

2. The filtering did not work automatically to get TBBeta messages to
the right subfolder. I had to do a manual re-filter instruction for the
inbox in order to get your message about this version to go into the
TBBeta sub-folder of the Inbox.
