Here are some videos, 2 over DC, 2 landing at Dulles.

New HTML Viewer Option: Image Download

2012-04-18 Thread Dierk Haasis
Hello TBBETA Members!

  so, the current TB comes with IE selected by default. Nothing wrong
  with that for me. I went in and checked that TB's image handling
  configuration is used. Guess what, it doesn't work.

  With HTML messages I don't get the images, which is good as far as
  blocked or unknown sources are concerned. Unfortunately approved
  sources aren't shown either. And I do not get the Image Downloader
  button.

  I checked all this by changing back to the internal viewer, which
  downloaded permitted sources automatically or showed me the button
  with unknown sources.

I change my OL AB, then export the changed/added contacts to vCard and
import them into TB's AB; the imported contacts are then quickly
scanned for anything I have to correct [which rarely happens if at
all].

Create new Message drop-list empty AGAIN!

2012-04-18 Thread Steven P Vallière
(I posted this to the TheBat! User List, but since it is about
the 5.1.x.y BETA, I figured I should post it here, too.)

I recently upgraded from 4.2.44 => 5.0.x.y => 5.1.x.y and the
"Create a new Message" drop-list has gone empty again (except
for 'Quick Template'). This has happened before but all I
remember is that there's some magic file I need to delete so
that TB! will re-create the drop-list content (or something
like that.) I have everyone correctly checked as a favorite
in the address book, but they no longer appear on the drop-list.
I've restarted the program several times and it is not fixing
itself, so I'm hoping someone knows how to get them back.

Help?  Please?

Re: (Again) Google Address Book

Agreed. This is the one part of my PIM-process that I could save a lot
of time on.

I don't differentiate between business and personal contacts, so
everyone is in my Outlook contacts, the program that my company uses. I
synchronize Outlook to Google Contacts using a tool called gSyncIt which
works well for my needs.

Because there is no decent import or synchronization that works for my
needs from either Outlook or Google Contacts to The Bat! I currently
register every change that I make in Outlook in a text file that I keep
open in order to update the same list of contacts in The Bat!.

This of course means a lot of extra work and introduces a rather large
chance that I make mistakes or simply forget to list updates in the text
file. Worse still, when I'm on the road and make changes to contacts on
my phone, I don't have the text file with me and these usually get
forgotten anyway.

A more mature Address Book with synchronization options to at least
Google Contacts would therefore be most welcome.

Some of the options I use in Outlook that I miss in The Bat! are:

* Ability to create your own fields
* Ability to define multiple views using any fields including custom
fields.
* Ability to immediately see someone's age when the birthday is entered
* Ability to just enter the day and month part of the birthday in case
someone doesn't want to disclose their year of birth
* More phone-number types
* Multiple company/job title sets
* Categories

I'm at 1600+ contacts and more than 60 categories (which I use in
Outlook instead of groups).

Actually, over here, most links are opened in the default viewer, some
invariably open up in IE.
