Hello Ron,

What is your setting in Options/Preferences/Message List for Limit
 expansion of first column to?

It was unchecked. I checked the box and kicked the number up from 10
to 25. No joy. It still disappears after six levels.

Hmm, that's strange. I've had this checked and set to 1 for years. Once
upon a time, I don't recall how long ago, it seemed to be the only way
to stop the first column from changing width with some long threads. My
first column has always been, and is, Subject.

But I agree with you, this setting doesn't seem to do anything now.

For me this setting does not work at all.

See my reply to Ron.

I do not want it to expand (1) but it does anyway.

1 has 'always' been my setting, and first column (subject) does not
expand at all here. But I have unchecked the setting and it still
doesn't expand. Go figure!

Yes, it doesn't seem to do anything here. See my reply to Ron.

On the other hand the fact that the message flag symbol is all over
the place and not in one column is a no go for me anyway so I put the
subject column first and that solve this problem.

Same here, most my view modes have Subject in first column.

5.1.0.4: Double click in HTML editor creates new message to my address

2012-04-23 Thread Viktor Kabelac
Hello TB-BETA,

while replying to an email, when I double-click a word in the HTML editor to
select it (seems to be an
implicitly understood feature in nearly all text editors), I get a new
editor window with my own address as recipient in it.
Disturbs me a bit as I'd expect a word-select on double click, plus I do
not see any possibility for this to be a defined feature.

Can anyone confirm this?

Is that a feature in any way?

Have a nice day!

About 'Tags'

2012-04-23 Thread MAU
Hello all,

In some of my recent posts I have explained that I didn't participate in
beta testing of v5 at all, and just lurked this list but not with much
attention. So, now that I have started using v5.1 I have found a number
of new features with respect to v4.2.44.2 that I was using until now.

One of these new features is 'Tags'. I have been 'playing' with them and
have a couple of questions:

1.- It seems to me that 'Tags' are just the same than 'Colour Groups'.
What is the big difference if any?

2.- For this playing I have created three Flags, but I can't find any
way of deleting them. What am I missing?

TIA.

OK, true. Let me be more specific:

Yes, with 5.1.0.4 Replied filters ONLY trigger when you 'Send now' from

Thank you RIT. I assume and hope it was an easy one to fix and that you

That's even worse, it doesn't create a message to myself, but you. And
the message I started with was one addressed to myself.

Actually the first time I tried it, I didn't get a new message, but my
browser opened with my website. As my default template ends with the
URL to that site, that pointed me in the right direction.
I put an additional word under my signature in my template and started
the procedure anew and behold, no strange behaviour.
My final test was your address at the bottom of my account template
and yes, double clicking got me a message to you.

Apparently what happens is that you select all text in the message,
but the code that points to the last used URL isn't slected properly.
That's why the whole message is considered part of the coded URL.
Definitely a bug.

Browsing deleted messages

2012-04-23 Thread MAU
Hello all,

One of the new features I found when upgrading from v4 to v5 is the way
of browsing deleted messages.

At first sight it looks like a neat feature, showing the deleted (or
marked as deleted) messages with strike through text and intermixed with
non deleted messages.

But, unless I am missing something, I see a drawback with this method.
For example, if a browse deleted messages in my TBBeta folder, which
uses a threaded view mode and right now holds well over 1000 messages,
and don't want to miss any deleted one, I have to expand all threads and
then browse the 1000+ messages. I don't really like this.

I don't know if any alternative to the strike-through text was
considered, for example a trash bin icon or something where the
Alt+click quick filter could be used to just show the deleted messages.

An even better solution, IMHO, would be to allow creating a Message List
tab, just like for unread, read, flagged, etc. Has this been considered?
I have looked and I could not find a way of doing it.

Again if I have missed something, please enlighten me.

5.1.2 expanded threads unstable

2012-04-23 Thread Roger Phillips
Hi All,

A problem I have with version 5 is that thread expansion is very unstable
and unpredictable. The expansion comes and goes without any particular
reason that I can identify.

Is this just a problem with my installation or are you other users having
the same problem? Please let me know.

Agreed. This was mentioned when the tabs were first introduced, but di not seem
to get picked up on.

Re: 5.1.0.4: Double click in HTML editor creates new message to myaddress

2012-04-23 Thread Viktor Kabelac
Hello Roelof,

 Cannot confirm.
When replying to an html message and I double click a word in the html
editor that action simply selects the word. Doesn't matter whether
it's a word in the quotes or my own text.

sorry for triple-posting if my earlier mails have arrived in the list (I
can see neither of them).

The problem seems to only happen when I delete the entire mail text after
hitting Reply and before I type my own text.
So
- I reply to an HTML mail
- I select and delete the entire text
- I start typing. A double click produces the new window I mentioned

I could reproduce this with a mail I had sent to myself, just as with a
Groupon newsletter.

Re: Printing Folder Structure to File/Paper

2012-04-23 Thread Rick
 Dear all,

Back in the times of w2000 I had an App that allowed me to print on
paper or into a file a selected folder structure.

Anyone knows of such App under w7?
 Thanks it would help.

Xcopy is built in and can do all kinds of tricks including printing a folder
 structure to a file

I might add that even the DIR command has some interesting switches and can
pipe to a file (dir /B tracks.txt) creates a file called trackss.txt in the
current directory with no header or time information. Try it first without the
/B

I had that on the wish list for a LONG time. I just added an icon to my
toolbars to toggle the deleted messages

I also wish that if the deleted messages are shown, that search would work on
them too
