In my case, never once have I seen it when the problem actually was a changed password. Good riddance, I think, if that is actually what happened. I do disagree. Taken to it's logical conclusion, anytime there was a problem which you software knows of and could identify it, instead there wouldn't be a box telling you there was a problem, and if one looked at the log it would just say You are F--ked That conclusion isn't necessary or logical. Judging by the times when that message appears, software writers feel it is appropriate any time the client fails to make a connection. In my experience, that most often happens when the server name is spelled incorrectly. A message that asks for a password at that point is worse than useless. I wouldn't mind a password prompt if the password actually is the problem. -- Gleason Current beta is 5.3.6.2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

All I am hoping for was that I would have receiv ed a password prompt, since the password was actually the problem. Later in the day I sent my original post, another of the persons who need to use that account called me. He wanted to know what the heck was going on, because Thunderbird was reporting that the password he was using was incorrect. I gave him the new password and his problem was solved. -- Dwight A.
