generally view new mail through a virtual folder that combines Inbox
and Sent (both at IMAP).

makes TB ignore the line break (so you don't have to put multiple
macro assignments all on the same line). However, I had no success
in using it - it adds the dash character and the unwanted line
break instead.

Correct. While filtering a big folder, the bat reconnects to server many times
but now it does this the normal way.
