On this work laptop (I am currently travelling), I received the pop-up stating
that a new release version is available. So I clicked on "update", it
downloaded and apparently installed the new version. As you can see in my sig,
it still shows the old version. Seeing the bugs being reported here, I am quite
happy that I am still with the old version, but it doesn't seem normal.

On another note, shouldn't the new version have been beta tested before the
release? Just asking.

Re: 10.4.0.16 Bug in editor: Marked text in HTML mode has very low contrast

2023-09-23 Thread Thomas ML
Hello Ritlabs,

When working at the HTML editor, kindly also fix the rather annoying font
change problem: https://bt.ritlabs.com/view.php?id=2147

When composing HTMLs email, I always have to highlight some paragraphs and
change to font back, otherwise I'd have two different fonts in my email. Can't
have that in business emails. Thanks.

I don't use the spell checker, so that is not the culprit.

TheBat! cannot access email on Microsoft Outlook365.com

2022-10-25 Thread Thomas ML
Hello TBBETA,

I am not sure whether this is a beta problem, as my university email worked
without problems until 28 September. Now, every time I want to download my
email by POP, I get the following error message:

!25/10/2022, 16:31:52: FETCH - Server reports error. The response is: -ERR
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Of course that is incorrect, as the username and password work when I log in on
by webmail .

These are the settings in TB! that worked until recently:

Send mail:smtp.office365.com RFC2554 587
Receive mail: outlook.office365.com regular 995

After an hours worth of time at IT support, and them talking to the IT
outsource, they told me that MS does not support POP or IMAP any more "for
security reasons", and everybody has to use Outlook as their email program
only. Of course, I told them that I won;t do such as thing and the reasonable
reaction by our IT department should be to change email provider from MS to
somebody else. Of course, they won;t do anything. But I still need to access my
email by TheBat!.

They found on the Ritlabs website that TB! supports MAPI. Is that really true?
If that, can someone send me some guideline? When I go to Account / New, I am
only offered POP and IMAP.

Do you mean Windows Defender? I use avast! instead. Maybe avast! blocked it...

So it seems to be related to the Remote Desktop. Sorry, I am not using it, so I
have no ideas.

If you can find the file exceptions.log in your TheBat! directory and either
post it here or (better) send it directly to Ritlabs, they can dissect it and
maybe find the reason for this behaviour.

Backup/Restore

2022-01-26 Thread Thomas ML
Hello TBBETA,

I just moved TB! to this new laptop. Backup/Restore worked flawlessly.

One wish though: The only thing (which I have encountered so far) that did not
work were the settings which Sender's to allow for downloading images. This is
a fairly new feature, and I guess that's why it was not included in the Backup.

I therefore suggest to include this into the Backup/Restore function.

Does anybody second the motion?

Even though I cannot participate in beta testing during my current trip (I only
have my work laptop with me), allow me to confirm that the HTML editor has been
changing fonts and font sizes by itself since the introduction of the new
editor.

While these reports show it has gotten worse, there is an underlying problem
that is older than this beta.
