I am not testing the 5.x betas and not following all your posts in details, so I am not sure what the problem with smileys you refer to is. But I can say that I have seen an 'intermittent' problem with smileys in the last 2 or 3 4.2.x versions. Don't know if your problem may have been inherited from the 4.x versions, or if it something different. By 'intermittent' I mean that sometimes I suddenly realise that I am not seeing smileys. If I right click on the message pane I can see that 'Use Plain Text viewer' is selected (ticked) and that Smileys is disabled (greyed out). So, no way to switch them on and off. The problem some times disappears when changing to a different folder and, if I come back to the previous one, smileys are then shown. So no folder specific issue. Some other times the problem only disappears with a re-start. -- Best regards, Miguel A.
