But can't you see that there are already 8 or 9 undo/redo menu items and
buttons? They are hidden in the customise dialog (by the way, a 'sort
alphabetically' is badly needed for 'All actions' there) most of them don't
even have an icon, and some of them don't work. Have *you* tried? Obviously
there should be only 2 buttons and/or menu items, both working, with proper
icons, both available in the default menu and toolbar, not just the 'Undo'
one. This should not be a matter for bugtracking, it's obviously a flaw in
menus and toolbars.

Apart from that, the undo function sometimes has unpredictable effects,
producing garbled text. Ok, this is a matter for bugtrack but it's difficult
to demonstrate the problem, I can't describe a step by step procedure to
reproduce it, and I myself can't replicate it when it happens because I never
know when it's going to happen (and of course the original text that I would
recover with the undo action is lost). But it happens, it's been happening for
years on all my sistems maybe since Windows XP or even before, with all my The
Bat and Voyager versions as long as I remember. I am astonished that nobody
ever noticed. And the redo action via ctrl+shift+z most of the times remembers
only the last action. Again, I could try to make a video, but it's so
unpredictable...

All versions. I'm using the last beta at the moment, but this - no redo in
MicroEd and sometimes even mulfunctioning undo - has been going on for I can't
even remember how many years, with Voyager and The bat.

Have you tried:
In most Microsoft Windows applications, the keyboard shortcut for the
Undo command is Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace, and the shortcut for Redo is
Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z.

If they work, you could create new buttons for the shortcuts.

Ok, but I thought it was self evident: no redo function anywhere by default,
and if you go rummaging in the customize section in search of a toolbar button
or a menu action, you find eight or nine different items labelled undo or
redo, some with the green arrow, some other with no icon, some of them not
working at all, some other working in unpredictable ways. In particular, no
'redo' toolbar or menu item seems to work, and if you find the one button that
does seem to work someway, the most you can obtain is a redo of the last
action only.

When I was looking for an email to upload, I found one for which the OpenPGP
key was automatically retrieved to verify the signature as well as the one for
which it wasn't. Both are uploaded.

"gpg --search-key B5AA3FA3486ED7AD" finds the key that was not automatically
retrieved, just to prove it is available.

Full screen on my 17 inch monitor, it's 5½ lines.

If I place the cursor at the start of line 5 and press , all the text
jumps a couple of inches to the left and back again, and the cursor jumps to
the start of line 6. And pressing the left key won't take me from the start of
line 6 back onto line 5. For all other soft line-breaks except that one, the
behaviour is as expected.

For smaller window widths, I observed this issue with zero, one, or two soft
line-breaks. It seems to be at the end of the longest lines but only if the end
of the text in that line is very close to the edge of the window.

Hello George,

Well, I hope moderators would excuse me this bloated HTML posting, but I think it's the most convenient way to demonstrate the difference:
Here is MicroEd with soft wrapping:

The text is supposed to be read easily  on displays of any width:

MicroEd with hard wrapping treats paragraphs this text as  pontentially very long lines:

Alternatively, you can use auto-wrapping or manual reformatting, which inserts "hard" line breaks so the text becomes more readable (when screen allows):

But on most mobile devices with almost 100% portrait-oriented layouts your text with "hard" line breaks would look really nasty:

This feature was requested quite a lot and we finally did it :-)  Of course,  there are still some bugs to catch and I hope we can restore some unique MicorEd's functionality which become incompatible with this wrapping mode, so please feel free to file bug reports or switch the feature off in the editor preferences if you don't like it :-)
