Ok, I followed your instructions to the letter. The copied over
non-passworded v4.0.18.4 Voyager runs perfectly.

The problem is now to get this non-passworded version of Voyager
passworded. Let's do a fresh install of v4.0.24.12 and password that,
and then restore the accounts from the previously copied over version.

Installed and passworded, but it will not accept the key that was used
for the original copied over version.

Get another key from Ritlabs, for this version, and it is the
identical key and yet is accepted - but you end up with a trial
version.

Thinking, thinking...

MM Voyager will no longer accept empty passwords. You have to use an older
MM version of voyager or update the message base via backup/restore.

 A wise decision, IMO!

I hope there is a warning or Dialog to enter a Password within the
upgrade? How should User know that?
Or you provide a special Program to set a Password only to Installation
which has no password set right now - or you put this in the startup if
detected empty password Please now enter a Password, Voyager will not
work without a Password further.

Very wise advice, Peter.

From bitter experience you cannot easily downgrade from the current
version of Voyager, to gain access without a password, backup the
message base and then do a fresh install of the current version.

When the fresh install is complete you discover that your previous
activation data is no longer valid and you must apply for a new one.

Upon installation of the required new activation data and the
restoration of your message base you then discover that you only have
a trial copy of Voyager.

The above holds true if you even think of moving a working copy of
Voyager from one portable storage device to another.

Happy days! Bye bye Voyager, hello Portable Thunderbird...
