@Stefan: This is a show-stopper for me. I am not installing the new
release on this work machine. I don't think the version should have
been released with this bug.

What is the bug report number?

GMX cuts it off during transit. This was discussed earlier.

Yes.
1. I install a new thebat_64_9-1-18,
2. then customise the standard toolbar adding a button for which I
chose a room; closing then re-starting TheBat! is ok,
3. then upgrade to thebat_64_9-2-1.msi,
4. the standard toolbar came back to the default one, loosing the
button,
5. if I repeat 2., save, close then re-start TheBat!, the new button
is still in the toolbar but at the end - always.

Roland

My menu customisations from before were gone on upgrading. I re-did
them but the next time I started TB! they were gone again.

Your cut mark didn't work because its trailing space is missing.

Yeah, we are going to fix it asap. I guess the problem was introduced when we
were switching back from DevExpress controls...

Did you customise the toolbar before the upgrade, and it now reverted
to the default? Or did you never customise it, so it was the default
before upgrading?

I just upgraded from thebat_64_9-1-18 to thebat_64_9-2-1.msi and the
toolbar is the default one.
Then if you try to customise, the new toolbar will be saved but if you
stop than re-start TheBat!, your customisation is not the same as
before: not the default one, but not the customised one...

Not sure at all after upgrading!!

thebat_64_9-1-18.msi is 41 mo
thebat_64_9-2-1.msi is 111 mo
which means that many things can happen! :-)
and reverse to the previous stable seems to be difficult.

I see. This means that the configuration I have now will persist. It
will not go back to factory default, right?

If so, I can safely download this msi to my work machine.

Yes, confirmed. Exactly like in
https://bt.ritlabs.com/view.php?id=1991
Customisation is saved in tbuser.DEF but when we close then
re-start TheBat!, tbuser.DEF has not changed but the toolbar
customisation is lost.

Is this confirmed by others? I am currently on my production machine
and cannot test betas, and this would be a show-stopper for me. I
cannot lose my toolbar customisations on the production machine.

I'd like to upgrade this machine because of the much better HTML
support.
