That's right. I should have remembered.

It was related to the email address. TB's OAUTH does not seem to work with
Gmail if "@gmail.com" is omitted (though that worked fine before). So, for
example, if the email address is x...@gmail.com, it was sufficient to log in
as user:"xyz". But with TB's OAUTH, now it seems one must log in as user: "
x...@gmail.com".

As I prefer not to set a default mailto address, I always get a list of
possible accounts to use (which is most convenient for me). Long ago that
list of accounts mirrored the order in my account tree (which was fine),
but now it is not in that order (for reasons I don't know). In any event,
it is the list of accounts in the "Select the Account" dialog box that I
want to re-order. But I find no way to do that.

On the account/folder tree, Alt+click on the account you wish to move up or
down, and drag it to the desired position. To make it easier, collapse all
accounts first, so you don't have to navigate through all folders of any
account.
Anyway, when I click on a file and select Send to: The Bat!, I don't get a list
of accounts, the message editor just opens  and the account defaults to
whichever account is marked as "This accounts is the default for "mailto" URLs"
in Account/Properties/General. I do get a list of accounts if none is marked
this way.

Thanks, Thomas. This was the second time I asked what for me was an
interesting question and received no reply here. And, yes, everything is
sorted out now that I discovered and corrected the somewhat simple but
unexpected source of the problem. I anticipate that TB will now continue to
work with Gmail for me even after May 30. But the other problem remains...
has never been sorted out. This has to do with the list of accounts (I have
many) that comes up when right-clicking a file and using Send to: The Bat!.
I would really like to be able to re-order that list, because the accounts
I generally use for that purpose are now located toward the end of the list
rather than the top of it. But perhaps I am alone in having this problem or
wish.

Cannot reproduce that.
I deleted some mails, opened my gmail account in my browser and they
were missing there too.

In case of problems with an imap account:
Close TB
Open your mail directory with the explorrer, locate the directory
matching with your imap account, in that directory you'll find a
directory called imap.
Your imap cache is located in that directory, delete all files in that
directory.
Most problems with regard to that imap account will be solved after

I can log in but then I get a blank page with nothing at all loaded
and in the status bar at the bottom it says something like Error on
 Page.

In your msg mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] on June 23.
you say that you stopped using gMail long time ago. I'm not sure, but
wasn't there an update. And as you didn't us your account for
'decades' probably you need to reactivate it or something like that.
Or perhaps it went corrupt after an update. In this case I would
contact the gMail Help desk.

This well OT so this'll be my last...

Read my posts and you'll see that there is nothing wrong with my Gmail
account, I just can't access it with my Windows machine. It's a Windows
setting somewhere because I can access it perfectly fine from this iMac.

It's happened a few times before but I can't remember what I did to fix it.
I'm not even bothering to find out what the problem is as I don't use the

I know my username and password and I can connect fine using this Mac. I

before and it's a java problem, the page won't load.

I stopped using Gmail ages ago anyway, I only tried to connect to help

Stuart, I assume you get the Loading stage and then a blank page? If so
I'm pretty sure it's a Java thing. all I get is a note at the bottom saying

from this forum. You get 1Gb of storage, a great search engine for
locating information, and you can easily receive the messages in TB if
you want to use TB, rather than Gmail, for sending and receiving

If you are using IMAP, you could still funnel your tbbeta

Do you really think I'd use a web based email account for anything other
than messing about with? I'm using it exclusively for this list at the
moment and a few personal email from people on this list who want an
invite.

If Google or anyone else want to read anything in my gmail inbox they're
welcome, there is a dozen other places where these lists are stored,
gmane, The Bat archives for example where anyone can read every post
ever sent to these lists. What difference one more, one that may be
marginally more secure?

Tame your fantasy. I did not say its not honest. I did not form any
conspiracy theory. They say that they'll advertising according to the
content of your mails (and that *is* data mining), and as I said in the
other post I just sent, I don't like that. I don't like the idea, I don't

And I fully respect your opinion and decision to do so. I personally am

ASK As if we wouldn't have enough marketing and advertising crap everywhere
ASK around us, already... honstely, if there's one industry I'd like to see

Oh come Alex, if it wasn't for advertisements we would all have to pay
much higher inflated prices for many, many things. And probably for a
great many things we don't have to pay for now.

Take this countries terrestrial TV channels. We have to pay £121 TV
license just to own a TV. All of it, every last penny goes to the BBC
who don't advertise. None at all goes to the ITV who use 3 minutes
advertising every 15 minutes or so. Great if you need a wee or want to
put the kettle on.

Anyway, take a look here http://www.neurowerx.de/ Two adverts on the
opening page and a whole list of them on the links page advertising
other peoples web sites.

I don't like BMW's or Volvo's but there are plenty of insane people out
there who do and adverts play a big part in selling those cars :)

Just out of curiosity, have you tried gmail? I can find a dozen web
sites slagging of Windows the same, no, more than that gmail site but I
bet I couldn't stop you using Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2?
