This is what I am talking about!
Thanks again!

I know that one can navigate to the next or previous unread message, or to a
previously viewed message. But with most other email clients I've used, it's
possible to navigate simply to the next or previous message in the message
list/folder, regardless of whether it's been read or not. Am I
This is available in all releases of TB up to the 3.0.9 beta series. I
am currently campaigning for its reinstatement. Since I no longer have
the pre 3.0.9 UI in front of me, I can't quite recall the name of the
option.
You're right about that. I switched back to 3.0.1.33 http://3.0.1.33 (I
Perhaps I'm being too obvious and not answering what you are asking,
but the up and down arrow keys move one message at a time, whether
read or unread.

Here's a dumb problem which I hope that someone will be able to help
with. For reasons which I won't go into, I temporarily changed my
system date ahead 3 weeks. Dumb me...I forgot to change it back
before I opened TB and downloaded about 20 messages. I usually sort
my folders by received date,
If they are still on your server, close TB and rename the account.m_r
file. That's contains UIDs of the mails TB has already received. TB
will download all mails from the server again, so you will need to
use the Kill Duplicates functionality under the Folder menu in the
main window.
The
Instead, you can also export the messages, delete the ones in TB, and
import them again. This should fix the received date. Back up/rename
the message.tbb file for safety first. You will need to do a manual
refilter.
This didn't work. After I imported the messages again, the received
I usually sort my folders by received date
If you sort them by created date it won't make a big difference usually
and you have the mails in question sorted in as they should. :)
I tend to prefer sorting my mail by received date, as my servers
sometimes give me mail that was sent months
However, if I export to msg/eml format, and then re-import the message,
the received date/time is the time I re-import.
If you are happy with the current date/time, I suggest exporting to
msg or eml format. If you want the date/time when you actually received
the message, you will need to
One of the trivial frustrating things for me as I use TheBat (mostly,
I'm just blown away by it's power) is that when I open a message in a
separate window, the title bar of the window just says either view
folder... or browse messages Is there a way to make the title
bar of that new window
Hallo Henry,
Can't be done, not with a single setting. What helps is:

That has to be set for every account, but that won't help you when you

Dear Henry,
I actually rather dislike replies to a person on a mailing list being
addressed just to the list even more than the (pretty poor) habit of
allowing TB's default of associating a person's name with the list
address (shudder). I firmly believe that the method I (and many others
Hi! I'm new to this list, and I apologize for the denseness that
brings forth such a question, and just so it gets covered, I am using
gmail on the web for this list, as I would rather maintain this lists'
messages on a server I can easily check from anywhere.
There is one particular thing that
